Recently asked to work on a cream board era FBJ and found that the PCB was heat damaged to the point of being like a brittle biscuit. Either scrap it, new PCB or bit of work to replace with hard wired valve bases. I like a challenge so of course that is the route I went. And the results is good with better heat management and reduced noise.
It does require some metal work and soldering but the results are worth it.
