Quad HiFi

I keep running into fans of Quad amps.  Mainly from recording studios who seem to like to use them as a mixdown audition amp.

As these amps age there is a fair bit of routine maintenance to consider, things like.

• Connection polishing to ensure good contact.
• Replacement of aged electrolytic power supply capacitors.
• Power switches
• Rotary switches and other controls

Some of the old control parts, e.g. balance control, are very hard to locate so sometimes compromise parts or solutions like bypassing have to be considered.
