It happens doesn’t it… We all break connectors on amps, keyboards and guitars. It must be the ultimate weak spot on any instrument or piece of equipment.
If you have done this, don’t feel bad. Get it fixed it is usually worth repairing as most connectors cost less than a fiver and fitting it will take between 30-45 minutes. That generally means a bill in the range of £21.00 to £31.50 + £5 per connector, approx.
If as on the above picture your jack plug has broken on the input of the amp then maybe you are buying bad quality leads. I seem to see loads of ones from a large online retailer, named after a river, that seem to be designed to fall apart. If this is might be what is happening to you, then think again on the next cable purchase.
Common examples of this repair
- Amps: input, speaker connectors and headphone connectors, DC power inputs like the Yamaha THR10.
- Keyboards: DC power connectors, USB Power/Data connectors, DIN Connectors.
